ChatGPT wrote this – organic vs natural

Organic wine and natural wine are often confused or used interchangeably, but they are actually two distinct categories of wine. Understanding the differences between the two can be helpful for wine enthusiasts looking to make more informed purchasing decisions.

Organic wine is made from grapes grown in accordance with organic farming principles. This means that the grapes are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. In order to be certified as organic, winemakers must also adhere to certain processing standards, such as using natural yeasts for fermentation and avoiding the use of artificial additives.

Natural wine, on the other hand, is a category of wine that emphasizes minimal intervention in the winemaking process. This means that natural winemakers aim to let the grapes speak for themselves, rather than relying on added chemicals or manipulations to shape the final product. Natural wines may be made from organic grapes, but this is not a requirement.

One key difference between organic and natural wine is that natural wine is not subject to the same certification process as organic wine. This means that it can be more difficult for consumers to know exactly what they are getting when they purchase a natural wine. Some natural wines may be made with organic grapes, while others may not be.

Overall, both organic and natural wines can be delicious and offer unique flavors and aromas. However, for those who are concerned about the environmental impact of their wine choices or who are looking for a more natural product, organic and natural wines may be worth considering.

ChatGPT wrote this – switching to organic wine

If you’re someone who values sustainability and environmental responsibility, you may be interested in switching to organic wine. Unlike traditional wine, organic wine is made using grapes that are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. This not only benefits the environment, but it can also result in healthier and more flavorful wines.

One of the main benefits of organic wine is that it is produced using grapes that are grown in a more natural and sustainable way. Synthetic pesticides and fertilizers can harm the environment by polluting waterways and soil, and can also have negative impacts on the health of the people who work with them. Organic wine, on the other hand, is made using grapes that are grown using natural methods, which helps to preserve the integrity of the land and protect the health of the workers.

In addition to the environmental benefits, many people also enjoy the taste of organic wine. Because the grapes are grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, they are able to fully express their natural flavors and aromas. This can result in wines that are more complex and nuanced, with a sense of terroir (a sense of place) that is often lacking in traditional wines.

Of course, it’s important to note that not all organic wines are created equal. Just like traditional wines, some are better than others. It’s always a good idea to do your research and taste a few different options before making a decision.

Overall, switching to organic wine is a great way to support sustainable and responsible farming practices, while also enjoying the delicious flavors and aromas of natural wine.

Happy Christmas!!!

It’s been a while…..

It’s been a bit of time since we wrote on here. It was much easier during the lockdowns but since the. It’s been busy!

There been a lot going on in the world of wine, with price increases from Brexit, covid and related shipping increases and general inflation. It’s not that serious, but it’s happening.

We’re definitely happy with our service and how that fits against the economic picture. We’re not a service for absolutely everyone, but anyone that wants a bespoke personal service in picking their wine has come to the right place.

We’re going to launch our new featured product soon, it’s been too long.

We’re also working on some other great things including how to take pay,ent in crypto!

Have a great weekend everyone. We’ll get back to writing.

Don’t buy our wine today

It’s reopen day. Some great businesses on the high street have been closed for so much of the last year.

Bars, restaurants, make up shops, tattooists, piercers.

Please go out today and spend money with them instead.

This time last year

How crazy is it that this time last year we were all stuck indoors, figuring out how we could get alcohol and food delivered to our doors?

This time last year we were mega mega busy, and wondering if we’d still be allowed to deliver under the ever changing rules.

Thankfully we got a load of new customers alongside our happy existing ones, and a lot of those new customers have stuck around since. A chalked up win for us.

Now as we prepare to get the reopen underway, we’re asking you to support your local shops and restaurants as much as possible (while having wine delivered to your door of course). Those businesses have probably missed a big chunk of the last 12 months of trading and they’ll be so excited to welcome you back.

Stay safe.

Garden parties

Well it’s finally here, the weekend we’ve all been waiting for – we can meet, safety and following the rules, with small groups in gardens.

It feels like that element of society has been a bit hit and miss. Maybe we were allowed by default in the first lockdown (but probably not), then we could, then we couldn’t. Rule of 6. With kids or without kids. Can we go in for a wee?

One thing is for sure, with the recent heatwave and summer looming hanging out in gardens having a couple of quiet drinks is going to be a bit part of our social calendar for a little while.

We wanted to get involved, so we’ve created the garden party box so our customers can have some killer wines to share with their friends and family safely. It’s also free shipping since we wanted to be extra nice.

If you’re out there in the garden hanging with your friends or family, stay safe and enjoy the hell out of it.

Mother’s Day 2021

Mother’s Day 2021. Hopefully the last lockdown Mother’s Day for some time.

This year we’ve decided to put something together to help people show their mam/mom/mum/mummy or any step / in law variation you can think of some love.

Eve out a 6 bottle box together to help those mams celebrate in style. My mam is a huge fan of the cava we’ve included, and she’ll have some on Mother’s Day. There’s also some of our personal favourites in the 6 bottle box – with free shipping!

We’re pining for the day we can all be sharing drinks indoors, or at the very least in people’s gardens. Mother’s Day is a bit early for that, but we can still have a blast.

Happy Mother’s Day mams everywhere!

Christmas boxes!

So it’s here. Finally.

Christmas is coming up fast. It’s going to be an odd old time we think, but hopefully everyone will find a way to be thankful and share joy regardless of restrictions.

Some people will remember last year that we did a Prosecco box as our Christmas feature. This year we decided to take it a step further with a champagne box and a mixed box too. We did that with 2 things in mind.

First of all, some people want more than just Prosecco. The mixed box is definitely a nod to this, with a bit of everything included. If we’re allowed to be together for Christmas this one will have something for everyone.

Also, we thought it was important to find a way for our customers to share some love with their friends who they might not be able to see, or might not be able to shop for, so along with our gift cards you can share some tasty wine and some love with anyone you want.

We’re hopeful we’re going to get to spend as much of the festive period with as many loved ones as possible, but if not remember that better things are coming. We’re sure of it.

Enjoy!

Thank you new customers!

Over the last 6 months we’ve welcomed a lot of new customers in our fastest period of growth since founding in early 2019.

We couldn’t be happier or more grateful

We stick hard and fast to our personalised service & recommendations model which sets us apart a little from other online wine shops even if it does narrow our customer base.
